Features:
The original bathroom felt closed in and visually disconnected, with awkward angles, bulky features, and a shower that limited both openness and movement. Faux windows created undesirable sight lines, while the oversized built-in tub consumed valuable floor space without supporting the calming experience the homeowners wanted from their primary bath.
The goal was to create a more open and restorative environment inspired by the feeling of a spa retreat. Walls were removed to improve flow, and the layout was reworked to feel brighter, calmer, and more functional. Natural textures, warm neutral tones, and carefully layered materials now create a space designed around relaxation and everyday comfort.
Functionality played a major role in reshaping the bathroom. Removing the oversized tub deck created additional floor space while allowing room for a second sink, expanded countertop space, and more concealed storage. The new vanity design better supports dual occupancy while maintaining a clean and uncluttered appearance.
The redesigned walk-in shower also improves how the space functions day to day. Its rectangular layout creates more usable floor area while eliminating visual and physical obstacles. Dual shower heads and a versatile teak bench support both everyday routines and moments of relaxation, while the freestanding tub offers easier access and a lighter visual presence within the room.

The homeowners envisioned a bathroom that felt calm, warm, and connected to nature. A layered material palette helped bring that vision to life, combining soft neutral tones with textured finishes that create depth without overwhelming the space. River pebble flooring and niche accents introduce an organic element that reinforces the spa-like atmosphere within the shower.
Black accents were thoughtfully repeated throughout the room to create visual continuity. Custom shower doors with a shoji-inspired grid pattern become a focal point while coordinating with the cabinet hardware, plumbing fixtures, and decorative lighting. Large-format tile, warm off-white walls, and bright white ceilings further enhance the sense of openness and serenity.
While the finished bathroom feels calm and effortless, achieving that result required careful craftsmanship and precision. The custom shower doors were built using thermally pressed grids infused between layers of thick glass rather than applied to the surface, creating a cleaner appearance and a smoother, easier-to-maintain finish.
Attention to detail carried throughout the project. Tile selections were hand chosen and carefully coordinated to maintain balance across the space, while high-performance hardware ensured the custom shower doors would operate smoothly for years to come. Even project delays related to the specialty glass installation were carefully managed to maintain the integrity of the final design.

What was once a closed and visually fragmented bathroom has been transformed into a calm, open environment designed around comfort and daily routine. The updated layout improves movement throughout the space while supporting shared use, additional storage, and a more relaxing experience overall.
Layered textures, warm neutral finishes, and carefully coordinated details create a bathroom that feels both refined and restorative. From the custom shower enclosure to the freestanding tub and natural stone accents, every element contributes to a space designed to feel peaceful, functional, and timeless.
