When our clients came to us, their primary concern was safety; their existing deck was no longer structurally sound, and it was time for an upgrade. However, they didn’t just want a replacement. They envisioned a space that would elevate their everyday living: a secure and serene extension of their home with sweeping views of their backyard and the distant beauty of Holy Hill.
While aesthetics were important, functionality was key. They dreamed of an outdoor theater experience without sacrificing the view that brought them peace. Together, we brought that dream to life.
The newly built addition serves as more than just a sunroom—it’s a dynamic entertainment space directly off the kitchen with a thoughtfully integrated drop-down projector screen. When not in use, the screen tucks away, keeping the view unobstructed.
The space maintains separation from the main home through an existing exterior door, allowing it to be used as a quiet retreat, cozy movie room, or lively gathering area without disrupting the flow of the rest of the house.
To ensure the addition felt like a true extension of the home—not just a “bolt-on” feature—we carefully matched the windows and transoms to the existing architecture. A single-piece curved gutter not only added a clean, seamless finish, but also subtly accentuated the structure’s sweeping 168″ radius, which maximizes the panoramic backyard view.
From inside or out, the structure enhances the home’s character and curb appeal.
Now, the space stands as a testament to collaboration, innovation, and care. What began as a structural concern has become a year-round retreat—designed for relaxation, entertainment, and unforgettable views. The homeowners gained a safer, smarter, and more stylish way to enjoy their property without compromise.
This sunroom addition transformed an outdated deck into a stunning, functional space that captures panoramic views of the backyard and Holy Hill. With thoughtful features like a hidden drop-down projector screen and year-round comfort solutions, the space now serves as a safe, serene retreat for everyday living and entertaining.
