Imagine transforming a dated kitchen with limited storage and inefficient flow into a luxurious, functional space that perfectly blends modern convenience with classic Tudor Revival charm. This project wasn’t just a renovation—it was a complete reimagination of the heart of the home.

Designing a Kitchen with Heart and Purpose

Our clients dreamed of a white, elegant kitchen that would stand the test of time—a space where beauty and function worked in perfect harmony. For them, the kitchen wasn’t just a place to cook; it was the heart of their home, where family and friends gathered and where meals became memories. 

Their existing space felt cramped, with limited counter space and cluttered storage that made daily tasks more difficult. They longed for a kitchen that not only looked timeless but also functioned effortlessly, with room to move, prep, and entertain with ease.

Out with the Old, In with the New

To create a sense of openness and flow, we reimagined the layout, expanding the space and relocating the dining room entrance to improve sightlines and make movement more natural. Storage was carefully designed to keep essentials within reach while maintaining a clean, uncluttered look. The client’s vision of a seamless, luxury aesthetic came to life through flush-set, panel-ready appliances, allowing the design to feel cohesive and refined. And because they loved to cook, we made sure ample prep space flanked both sides of the range, turning their kitchen into a space where they could create with ease.

A transformation of this scale required a meticulous approach, ensuring every detail aligned with both the client’s needs and the home’s architectural integrity. It all began with a carefully considered layout, expanding the kitchen’s footprint to create a space that was as functional as it was beautiful. 

The Beauty in the Details

To achieve the timeless elegance our clients envisioned, we selected a neutral color palette, allowing the beautiful warm red oak flooring to add contrast and character. But this remodel wasn’t just about aesthetics—it was about seamlessly integrating modern conveniences while honoring the home’s Tudor Revival charm. Storage solutions were strategically placed to keep the kitchen organized and clutter-free, while the dining room entrance was widened and relocated—a subtle yet powerful change that improved flow and made the space feel more open and inviting.

A Seamless Blend of Past and Present

Structurally, the removal of the outdated glass sunroom allowed for a more purposeful use of space, making way for a kitchen that felt like a natural extension of the home. Marvin windows with leaded tape were carefully chosen to reflect the home’s original Tudor details, bringing in natural light while maintaining historical character. At the heart of the design, a custom-built range hood with a stained red oak mantel became a striking focal point, tying in the warmth and craftsmanship that make this kitchen feel like it has always belonged.

Every choice, from layout to materials, was made with intention and artistry, ensuring that this kitchen wasn’t just renovated—it was reimagined to tell a story of timeless sophistication and modern livability.

From Start to Finish

  • The kitchen had (3) doorways and an obtrusive dining room wall prohibiting traffic flow.
  • The mixed use of materials, surfaces and color schemes was outdated
  • The range placement was awkward, lacked side counter space and unsafe.

  • The expanded kitchen feels more open, bright, and inviting.
  • The perimeter of the kitchen provides an abundance of storage and countertop space.
  • Space wasting soffits were removed to allow for taller cabinetry and crown molding to the ceiling.

  • The kitchen sink had two different cabinet colors with white toe kick.
  • Organization through additional countertops and storage was needed to maintain clean counter space.
  • The homeowner wanted the microwave off the counter and built into the cabinetry for a seamless appearance.
  • The stainless sink was dated and an undermount was requested for the remodel.
  • The yellowing of the flooring didn’t match the rest of the house.

  • A Thermador 24” microwave drawer can be seen integrated into the lower cabinet.

  • The countertops are a Trends Quartz in a Calacatta Lucia color.

  • Soffit above the cabinets was consuming too much space.
  • Lighting was lacking throughout the kitchen.
  • The dark colors of the base cabinets, countertops and appliances produced a dark and uninviting space for food prep, cooking and conversing with family and friends.
  • Architectural details were lacking.

  • The aged brass color scheme works well from the light fixture to the cabinet hardware.
  • Matte Ivory painted cabinets feature flush inset doors for a clean appearance and stretch to the ceiling for maximum storage space.
  • The homeowner requested a ceramic 3x6 glossy tile for the backsplash to keep the room bright.

  • A 36” Thermador Professional Induction ProRange offers a sleek stainless appearance to contrast with the white kitchen and compliment the other Thermador appliances.
  • The new backsplash niche adds dimension and storage space for cooking items.

  • New tall Marvin windows with lead tape grilles mimic the multipaned windows reflective of the Tudor style home.
  • An abundance of natural light and a great view of the backyard is provided from the windows.
  • Dual pendant lights from Signature Hardware feature an old brass finish.

  • The rear of the home contained a curved all-glass addition that was leaking and overheated the space.
  • The exterior design of the gable with curved lines did not properly reflect a traditional Tudor style.

  • The new addition was designed with a flat roof in order to retain the two bedroom windows on the second floor
  • The rear of the home is refreshed with new Hardie stucco textured paneling in Arctic White to contrast with the brown Hardie rough sawn trim (timber like) to match the existing home.
  • Vertical trim (timber-like) now provides an important architectural characteristic of a Tudor style home. A new downspout and gutter layout was designed to be discreet.
