The History of S.J. Janis
1951
- Original owner Samuel Joseph Janis opens S.J. Janis the Standard Heating Company
- Janis expands his company’s services in the summertime, providing carpentry as well as siding and roofing projects for his heating clients
1968
- S.J. Janis shifts service focus from heating to carpentry work along with window and siding replacement
1977
- Gary Sannes joins S.J. Janis as a sales representative
1984
- Gary Sannes becomes the owner of S.J. Janis and incorporates the company.
- “The S.J. Janis name was well recognized in the community so I decided to retain it in lieu of using my name or creating another,” said Sannes.
1985
- Sannes hires the company’s first full-time Salesperson
1990
- Sannes hires the company’s first full-time In-House Director of Design
1993
- Sannes hires the company’s first full-time Production Manager
1996
- We moved office to Wauwatosa
