S.J. Janis offers kitchen, bathroom and basement remodeling, home additions, and whole home remodeling in Nashotah, WI. One design-build team handles architecture, interior design and construction, so you work with a single remodeling contractor from concept to completion.

Q: How much does a home remodel cost in Nashotah, WI?

Cost depends on the scope, size and finishes of your project. S.J. Janis reviews your budget at the first consultation. After you approve the final plans, you receive a fixed-price contract.

Q: How long does a home remodel take in Nashotah?

Q: How does the S.J. Janis remodeling process work?

S.J. Janis follows a step-by-step design-build process: initial consultation, design agreement, field measure, design review, plans and selections, budget review, fixed-price construction agreement, construction and warranty. Your project manager meets with you weekly during construction.

Q: Can I stay in my home during a remodel?

It depends on the scope of your project. S.J. Janis will discuss living arrangements with you during your consultation, especially for additions and whole home remodels. During construction, the team uses barriers and dust containment to protect your home.

Q: Is whole home remodeling a good option for a lake home in Nashotah?

Q: Can S.J. Janis design and build a home addition in Nashotah?

Yes. S.J. Janis’s in-house architects design the addition and its carpenters build it. The team matches rooflines, siding and windows so the new space looks original to your home.

S.J. Janis is a design-build remodeling contractor that has served Nashotah, WI, and the surrounding Lake Country area since 1951. Our home remodeling services in Nashotah combine architectural design, interior design, and construction in one team. We help owners of lake homes and custom residences plan luxury home renovations that fit the property and the way the family lives.

Every project begins with a close look at your existing house, its views, and your goals. We study sight lines, floor plans, and architecture before recommending changes. We also believe you do not need to follow trends, because a well-planned design stays comfortable long after fashions change.

Why Nashotah Homeowners Choose to Stay and Remodel

Nashotah is a small Waukesha County village named for the nearby Nashotah Lakes. Quiet streets, lake access, and historic landmarks such as the 1848 Red Circle Inn give it a distinct character. Many owners want to stay in the area, so the goal is updating the interior for modern life.

A custom home remodeling plan can improve how rooms connect, add storage, bring in daylight, and open the house to the outdoors. Many lake homes began as seasonal retreats and now serve full-time households. We weigh the existing home and your vision together before recommending any change.

Whole Home Remodeling Designed for Nashotah Properties

A whole home remodel suits properties where several areas need attention at once. This approach plans the house as one connected space instead of treating each room separately.

Nashotah homeowners often use it to update dated floor plans, improve flow, or give lake homes and custom residences a cohesive look. We coordinate kitchen renovation, bathroom renovation, living areas, bedrooms, and basement finishing under one design vision. The result feels intentional from room to room.

Remodeling Services for Nashotah Homeowners

Every property has different needs. We tailor each service to your home’s architecture, views, and priorities.

Home Additions

A home addition can add a sunroom, family room, primary suite, or office with views of your property. Our architects match rooflines, siding, and windows so the new space looks original.

Basement Remodeling

A finished lower level can host a game room, guest suite, fitness area, or media space. We plan moisture control, lighting, and storage with the same care as the main floors. See our basement remodeling services.

Bathroom Remodeling

Primary suites, guest baths, and powder rooms benefit from careful planning. We coordinate layout, tile, vanities, lighting, and ventilation for a refined, durable result. Explore our bathroom remodeling options.

A kitchen remodel can turn a lake home into a better place to entertain. We plan generous workspaces, durable surfaces, and storage for large gatherings and weekend guests.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A few years ago SJ Janis completed a whole house remodel for our lake home which was last remodeled in the 1960’s. The results were amazing. Their vision, skillful execution and attention to detail improved our house beyond our expectations. Recently we contacted them on an unrelated repair issue to get a referral. Very shortly thereafter a contractor called and within a couple days our problem was repaired at a very reasonable cost. SJ Janis produces great construction results and provides equally great customer service.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were looking to tear down a main level porch and replace with either a 3 season or 4 season room. With the help of Casey and his team they were creative customizing our new fabulous 4 season room. They were nothing short of amazing with every facet during the construction. Their workers were super nice, cleaned up every day and were respectful of our family space each day. The time line they laid out for us from start to finish was spot on. We never looked back when considering other contractors. We are extremely happy we chose S.J. Janis for our project. Thank you very much to the entire S.J. Janis team!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. SJ Janis remodeled our kitchen and master bath. Sarah, the designer and Andy the project manager were excellent to work with on these projects. They both listened, had great ideas and solutions, were professional, and were always looking out for our best interests.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I did a total house remodel plus an addition ... 1960s ranch with lots of unused space due to a poor design and a kitchen the size of a closet. S.J.Janis did a perfect design for my taste - open concept with a minimalist shaker style flow. It turned out perfect.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. S.J. Janis was very responsive when I called to have a garage roof beam inspected that was splitting. It is the main beam in the garage. The carpenter came in terrible weather to inspect and followed-up the next day with two 14 foot 2x4 to support the beam to ensure our roof didn't collapse. Their responsiveness and professionalism is greatly appreciated as we determine the best solution to the problem.
